About Us...

When we first opened our doors in 1969, we began with the belief that young children learn best through play. Today we still follow that philosophy while providing programs that nurture a love of learning through friends, indoor and outdoor activities, reading, music, games and crafts. Our staff focuses on instilling our students with school readiness skills, life lessons and the fostering of friendships that grow with every school year. Our program also enhances fun learning through resource classes in science, music and Christian values lessons.
Chester Presbyterian Preschool... a place for learning, friends and fun.

Curriculum
Chester Presbyterian Preschool is a half day socialization and school readiness program for children ages 2 ½ to 5 years old. We use our own thematic based activities and the Creative Curriculum adopted by area public schools, applying developmentally appropriate methods of instruction. Our school is located in the beautiful and historic Chester Presbyterian Church with modern day renovations that provide a colorful and fun learning environment for our students. We have been serving the Chester area for over 40 years.
Mission Statement
The Chester Presbyterian Preschool is an important ministry of Chester Presbyterian Church. It serves the broad Chester community by providing educational opportunities for children 2 1/2 to 5 years old. As such, the Preschool adheres to the policies and procedures of Chester Presbyterian Church, which provides the facility and some administrative support services.
The mission of the Preschool is to provide programs that facilitate academic, emotional, social and physical growth that are appropriate for each child. The children are exposed to the spiritual nature of our church by activities conducted within the church facility but do typically receive specific religious instruction.
The preschool is a religiously exempt child day program that is monitored by the Virginia Department of Social Services, Virginia Department of Health and the Chesterfield County Fire Department. The Session of Chester Presbyterian Church provide program oversight.

Important Allergy Reminder
Please be aware that NO PEANUT BUTTER or products containing PEANUTS/TREE NUTS are allowed in some of the classrooms at any time.
We have some children with peanut and tree nut allergies so severe that the touch of a peanut or tree nut could result in a major medical emergency. In general, CPP would like to avoid peanuts (inlcuding peanut butter) in the classroom to keep our children safe. Please check with your child's teacher before sending treats to the classroom.
Thank you for your cooperation & consideration!
